There was a point in my life where I would have said I wasn't very self-aware. I didn't understand the importance of awareness and what impact it can have on your life.
So, what is awareness and why is it so important?
95% of our actions and behaviours are driven by our sub-conscious and we have a ridiculous number of thoughts each day, ranging from 60,000 to 90,000.
A lot of what we process is done on a subconscious level but there are ways to become more aware of your patterns of behaviour and the language you use.
The brain processes information through words and images so by increasing the conscious awareness of these, then we can create a new reality.
As I always say...what you think affects how you feel, how you feel affects how you act, how you act affects the outcomes you create in your life.
Imagine for a moment if you were more aware of the thoughts and images you feed your mind every day. What could shift?
Simply by changing these two things you change the chain effect of thinking, feeling and acting. Effectively you create yourself a new reality.
I'm going to share with you some of the mindset tools I use to increase my awareness and shift my reality, so that you can move past your fears and get into action with creating your Virtual Assistant business...
👉 Flip the switch - It takes some effort to become more consciously aware of your negative thoughts. When you do capture negative thoughts literally just 'flip the switch' and write down the exact opposite of the negative belief.
It doesn't matter whether you believe it or not because the brain doesn't know the difference between imagination and reality.
Next time you notice the negative thought simply replace it in your mind with the new positive belief you've created. As you get more consistent with this practice the easier it will be to change your thoughts and therefore change your reality.
👉 Feeling - Having a gratitude practice has been scientifically proven to help you sleep better, increase your self-esteem and increase your physical and emotional wellbeing. But it's more than just hurriedly writing down three things you're grateful for.
I want you instead to really feel into each piece of gratitude. Notice what you feel in your body and where you feel it. Is it love, joy or happiness you feel? Connect with your body, connect with that feeling and really own it.
👉 Visualisation - This is such a powerful tool and one I used myself after a serious accident which left me with nerve damage and 'drop foot' in my left foot. I would visualise minions lassoing ropes over my toes and bringing them forward towards me. I now have the full use of my foot again and I partially attribute that to the power of visualisation.
As Marisa Peer says belief without talent will take you much further than talent without belief. I want you to take the time to really connect with the vision of what you want to create. What do you see, hear and feel? Really step into your visualisation and make it a daily practice. Give yourself sufficient time to really immerse yourself in the experience.

One thing I will say though, is if you want to change your mindset and change your life, then consistency is key. I want you to make it as consistent and familiar as brushing your teeth every day. This is the secret to lasting change.
